According to a survey by Move with Us, homeowners who want to sell their home by Christmas traditionally need to have their house on the market by the first weekend of September!

This might seem a long time in advance, but people start to prepare for Christmas earlier and earlier these days.  They get over-taken with Christmas shopping, parties, and they also mentally prepare to wind down.

Although Rightmove reported today that page views rose 30% in the four months to end of October, it stands to reason that, as Christmas approaches, the housing market is going to quieten down.

Most people who are buying want to "be in by Christmas", so will have started their search several months previously.
